Sometimes it’s little software utilities that make a nice difference to their productivity, and one they do at present our work a little more light each day is Melloware of PlacesBar Editor.A wee little whippersnapper of a program to only 900k, PlacesBar Editor corrects an annoying obstacle to the 2000/ME/XP/Vista Windows and Office dialog boxes that serve only until the option to save files in predetermined locations.

That’s all very well if you’re satisfied with doing things like Microsoft tells you to, but if you like swimming against the tide, sock man, combat system, being your own man, Walk the Line etc etc, then Editor PlacesBar can help a little along the way.

PlacesBar Editor: Windows XP UtilityThe program lets you edit the five localities served in his left hand in the style of Outlook 2000/XP/2003/2007 can also add an additional 5 buttons location.

All this may not sound particularly impressive, but if you’re regulate drilling chuffing through endless folders to store files every day, this program could make a real difference.

Its creation is too easy - just open the dialogue and configuration, or select a location on the drop-down box or click the ‘usual’ box to specify its own folder anywhere on your PC.

Of course, people techie mentality is quick to point out that a quick bit Windows jiggerypokery ‘registration will get exactly the same results, but seeing that some people find the ability to edit the registry to be as fun as a night with Jade from Big Brother , PlacesBar Editor offers a solution easier.

The usefulness of open source is free, although the author shows small financial donations.
